math blog

if math were a pattern it would be polka dots because it is unpredictable in some ways butin others you can expect what will happen. the different size of the polka dots and the different places it occers refers to the unpredictability of answers and what we will be learning next. you can always expect the polka dots will be circles just like in math the answer never changes. the different colors of polka dots represents the diferrent chapters in a math book. and that is why i think math is like polka dots.

Journal number 3

Some of my worst math experiances happened last year in geometry. Dont get me wrong i did learn a lot in that class but there were also many things that i didnt understand last year aswell. I never understanded any of the proofs that we did last year. We also did a project last year with the different groupings of shapes and only one group could get 10 points for creativity and only one could get 9 points so it was like a competion to get a good grade which i didnt think was fair because school shouldnt be a competetion. We also did a week long castle learning project and i had to miss the last day for an important or something and i got down graded by a lot just because i couldnt be there for the last day, it stunk! And those are my worst math experiances.

Journal number 2

As of this point in class, really nothing is confusing me so far. The only thing that I was kind of skaky about was decimal number and putting them into fractions, but I think that i finally have that down. I also think that when it comes to things with slope intercept I will also need some review because I dont remeber how to do that so well. One thing last year that really confused me was using factoring in equations, I was trying to recall how to do that but i really have no memory of that. The last math thing that messed me up was the proofs...but i think that may be a lost cause because I didnt ever understand them last year.
