Journal Entry

When I see a word problem the first thing i think is what is the first thing I can do to make this problem less complicated. Or is there a different way I can put this problem so it makes more sense to me? After I read the problem a couple times i may make a diagram to help me come up with an equation.  Next the first thing I do is put what i am trying to find, or if im given it, put it on the side with an equal dign. After is the hard part setting up the equation so it can fit the problem and get me to the answer. After I have found something I put it back in the equation to see if it works/fits the problem.

journal number 6

i am very optimistic in math in many ways!  i believe that i am able to comprehend algebra a lot better than geometry. i didnt understand the different shapes and how they fit in a plane or proofs  and that is kind of  what geometry is all about. i am also very optimistic when it comes to learning new things and math can be a perfect example  of that. i am also optimistic about getting a good grade and keeping it up and steady!! i am very excited for what is to come.

solving a math problem

hey ms. yo im at the night of columbus right and i just saw you and that reminded me i stll have my math blog to do. i think the most important part in solving the problemis to have the right equation. when given a story problem or a equation it is important to make sure the equation is written the same or that it is written with something that fits the story problem. if the equation is wrong then everything else for the problem will be way off because there is no way to get an actual answer.
